This project was aiming to the study and implementation of a system for the classification of image regions using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA). Today, FPGAs are widely used for the development of real-time systems, especially when large amount of data and algorithms of high complexity are involved.Our research group has been working in the implementation of algorithms-methods for the detection of pathological regions in medical video frames. These methods will be integrated and optimized in parallel hardware.
