TITLE: Multichannel medical data acquisition and processing
A novel data acquisition and processing system was designed and developed to support a new endoscopic system. Incorporating a methodology for the detection of abnormal tissue regions, enhanced the endoscopic system’s capabilities. Endoscopic data processing and analysis methods were studied in conjunction with medical parameters. Different texture analysis methods were experimentally evaluated on both reference and colonoscopic images and video. Novel texture analysis methods were proposed. Machine learning algorithms were utilized for data classification. All methods were integrated in a novel medical diagnostic support system. The results led to important conclusions, which were published in international journals and conferences.
